This is what separates a great franchise opportunity from a merely good one.
Earlier this week, 92 Degrees co-founder Gerard Bowers-McIntyre posted an update about a day that brought all of the brand’s store leaders together at their HQ in Liverpool. There was training, product development, feedback sessions, and solid team building, and even a visit from an external partner, Kasey Rosen from PerfectTed, to share the story behind their matcha innovation and introduce the team to the world of “hojicha”, a smoky, rich, naturally calming roasted matcha which is set to be the next big thing.
All great stuff, and very much the kind of activity which tells you you’re looking at a well-run brand. However, it was the last few lines of his post which really caught my eye:
“It’s a big reminder that it’s all about the people – teams across stores, partners, and HQ, all aligned with the same energy, values and drive, making it happen every day even when we’re miles apart.”
Now, why am I sharing this with you?
Well, there’s no shortage of great things I can say about why the 92 Degrees coffee franchise is a great business opportunity, and I hope my regular emails are helping you to understand how it could work for you.
Obviously it’s always important to focus on the key details – such as how much it costs, how much money you can make, and how viable it is as a long-term investment – but one of the things that separates a great franchise opportunity from a good one is what happens behind the scenes. Especially when it comes to its culture, values, and attitude towards its partners.
When you invest in a franchise, the brand, the product, and the numbers all matter, but the relationship with your franchisor is the thing that will truly define your experience.
A leadership team that invests in its people and creates the kind of culture where everyone is pulling in the same direction is one that will show up for you in the same way: during your training, through your launch, and across the years of growth ahead.
The day Gerard described wasn’t a generic corporate exercise. It was a clear, honest demonstration of how 92 Degrees actually operates, and that kind of detail matters a great deal when you’re deciding who to trust with your investment and your future.
Of course, all of that is backed up by some pretty impressive numbers, too.
In the first quarter of 2026, 92 Degrees has reported record-breaking sales right across all its locations, with a consistent rise in profitability year-on-year. The first franchisee owned store is now opening and performing well, and already looking at future locations.
This is a franchise which is growing fast, and doing it right. The people behind it have built something truly worth sharing, and it’s clear they are only just getting started. Getting involved in a franchise at this very exciting stage of their journey, with the full weight of that culture, support, and momentum behind you is an opportunity that doesn’t come around very often.
